dc.description.abstract	TMI conducted the first-ever open chess tournament as part of Tolani Khel Mahotsava 2022. Dr. B.R. Natrajan graced the occasion with his presence and lifted the spirits of all participants with the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Chess is a war over the board. The object is to crush the opponent’s mind”- Bobby Fischer With this thought in mind, a total of 76 diligent cadets and faculties participated in this brainstorming sport. The Tournament was conducted in 6 rounds of Elimination in 4 groups. In a 15+0 standard time format. With each round participants tussled with each other but only 1 could rise from each group for the semi-finals. The best of each group fought against each other in ferocious semi-finals but only 2 could rise from the mundane. The Final was conducted between Cdt. Shivam and Cdt. Arya. After 30 harsh minutes, Cdt Shivam checkmates Cdt Arya to Win the First ever open chess tournament and marked the end of this action-packed evening.	en_US
