AC0205 - Cyber Jaagrookta Session

Cyber Crimes by means of various types of attacks pose a very serious threat not only to Governments all over the world but to ordinary citizens as well. In view of this Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (l4C) (CIS Division) has taken initiative and suggested to organize ‘Cyber Jaagrookta (Awareness) Diwas' on the first Wednesday of every month to create the awareness. Realizing the threats this new evil poses and spreading awareness amongst the TMI employees about the same, the cyber security club conducted a Cyber Jaagrookta Session on the 2nd of November 2022. The session was mainly focused on cyber awareness and common mistakes that users should avoid to ensure their safety over the web. The key speakers were Mr. Ganesh Ingle, club coordinator of cyber security and virtual reality club, and the student club coordinator Cdt. Yash Katoch, Cdt. Kapil Parab, Cdt. Rahul Sutar, Cdt. Aniket Tagadpallewar, and Cdt. Shardul Bendre. The employees and faculty staff were made aware of various Cyber-attacks happening on the internet. The light was shed on the different ways in which such attacks can be prevented and the steps to take if one falls prey to them. The cadets, along with the guidance of Mr. Ganesh Ingle, cleared the doubts of the audience and helped them clear their views towards the common mistakes one should avoid. By the end of the seminar, the audience was much more informed and consequently, safer on their digital devices.
