On February 14, 2024, the Tolani Maritime Institute proudly commemorated the 100th Birth Anniversary of its visionary Founder, the late Dr. N.P. Tolani. The institute paid homage to his enduring legacy through a series of heartfelt events. The day commenced with a solemn floral tribute at Dr. N.P. Tolani's memorial, followed by a soul-stirring rendition of the instrumental performance, evokes a sense of peace and reverence. In a touching tribute to Dr. N.P. Tolani's life, the Arts & Craft Club of TMI showcased various portraits depicting his remarkable journey. The cadets of TMI thoughtfully organized a range of activities that were reminiscent of the childhood joys cherished by Dr. N.P. Tolani, including kite flying and card games. The presence of Shri. Shyam Jagannathan (IAS), Director General of Shipping, at the event, enhanced the significance of the occasion. He emphasized Dr. N.P. Tolani's remarkable contributions to both the shipping industry and education, highlight the breadth of his influence and legacy. He illuminated Dr. N.P. Tolani's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation inspires present and future generations of maritime professionals. Dr. Sanjeet Kanungo, the Principal of TMI, then addressed the gathered audience, reflecting on the exceptional journey of the institute's founder. Dr. Kanungo delved into the transformative moments and visionary decisions that shaped the institute's trajectory under Dr. Tolani's leadership. The Cultural Club of TMI mesmerized the audience with captivating performances, showcasing their talent and artistry. Additionally, the PI Club and Cyber Security Club members presented spellbinding skits, leaving spectators awestruck with their brilliance. A dance performance by small kids from the Anganwadi adopted by TMI added an innocent touch to the cultural extravaganza. Furthermore, a felicitation ceremony was held for the graduating batches of 2021, 2022, and 2023, during which Shri. Shyam Jagannathan honored the winners with medals and certificates for their remarkable achievements. The esteemed Chairperson of TMI, Dr. Sujata Naik, graced the occasion with her presence and shared the remarkable journey of Dr. N.P. Tolani along with insightful excerpts from the book Odyssey that reflect the enduring legacy of Dr. N.P. Tolani. The program culminated with the screening of a video song titled "HIS Way," which portrayed the life journey of Dr. N.P. Tolani.
