Item AC0251 - TRANSTECH 2023(TOLANI MARITIME INSTITUTE, 2023-03-16) TOLANI MARITIME INSTITUTEThe Transtech 2023 event was organized by Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune & Institute of Marine Engineers (India), Student Chapter, TMI, Pune in association with Institute of Marine Engineers (India), Pune Branch & The Institution of Engineers (India), Pune Local Centre from 16th (Thursday) to 18th (Saturday) March, 2023, at TMI Campus. The technical carnival of Tolani Maritime Institute “TRANSTECH 2023” portraying this year's theme, ‘Sustainable Transportation: Key to Atmanirbhar Bharat’, began on 16th March 2023 with the arrival of the chief guest, the President of the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMEI), Mr. Vijendra Kumar Jain. Followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and the Vandana of goddess Saraswati. The institute principal, Dr. Sanjeet Kanungo shared his feelings in his welcome address and introduced Transtech as the official platform to the professionals of tomorrow from Maritime Training Institutes and Engineering Colleges to showcase their talent and churn out new ideas for the future of the maritime sector. This was followed by the address of Mr. Sanjeev Ogale, Chairman, Institute of Marine Engineers (I), Pune Branch, Dr. Sanjay B Zope, chairman of IMEI and Prof. Abhishek Kumar, Faculty in Charge, Institute of Marine Engineers (I), Student Chapter, TMI Pune. Mr. Anirudh Kumar, being the 5th convenor for the technical carnival, addressed about the relevance of sustainable transportation and it's benefits as he remarked how Transtech seeks to expose the students to such technical programs to generate quest for knowledge and inspire them to achieve excellence in their professional career. The event was further graced by the various chief guests; Mr Manas Vaid, Head of Marine Claims in Treasury & Risk Management of A. P. Moller Maersk Group spoke on "Technological advancements in the area of marine insurance & claims", Capt. D.C. Shekhar, Director, AlphaMERS Ltd with his views about Innovation from mind to market. the Chief Guest Mr. Vijendra Kumar Jain released 'Transtech-2023 - Book of Proceedings' & ‘Journal of Marine Science, Technology and Management’ followed by his Inaugural speech on "Emerging Technologies". The inaugural session was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Mr Shailendra Kumar, Vice Principal-ME, TMI. The session was followed by Technical paper presentations conducted in presence of the Judges Mr Anand Thakoor, Mr Anil Bhat, Mr Ajit Shelar, Mr. Deepak Saranjame, Mr Gaurav Kumar Gupta & Mr Swapneil Tamhankar along with the session chairs Dr N.D. Junnarkar and Dr Sagar Mane Deshmukh from TMI. Wherein Twelve papers were presented on various topics by the participants. Day 2 of Transtech was full of enthusiasm and energy. The guest speakers of the day were Commodore Somen Banerjee and Mr. Siddharth R Mayur. The Guest Speaker Commodore Somen Banerjee spoke on the topic of "Changing International Order and Distribution of Shipping Trade". Guest speaker Mr. Siddharth R Mayur also spoke on a hot topic of the shipping industry. Both the guest speakers were felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Sanjeet Kanungo and Sr. Vice Principal, Dr. Manoj Kumar Hirkane respectively. The session was concluded with a vote of Thanks by Capt Indranath Banerji, Vice Principal-NS, TMI. The session was followed by a technical paper presentation chaired by Dr. N.K. Joshi and Dr. Manoj Kumar Kar from TMI. Eight papers were presented on various topics. The participants were Tolani Maritime Institute, Indian Maritime University- Mumbai, Indian Maritime University-Kolkata, and Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training. The event was followed by the much-awaited Marine Quiz. The quiz had multiple rounds, which were preceded by an elimination round. The four Teams including, Tolani Maritime Institute, Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy, Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training and Samudra Institute of Maritime Studies competed with each other with their full potential, skill and knowledge but at the end, the winner of the Marine quiz was declared as Tolani Maritime Institute and day-2 of Transtech was concluded. The final day of Transtech 23 was the valedictory function. The event began with the welcoming speech by Dr Sanjeet Kanungo, Principal, TMI followed by the motivational address by the Guest speaker Prashant Gade and the Chief Guest Mr Adarsh Gokhale. The Guest speaker Prashant Gade had a talk on "Die empty handed" while the chief guest Mr Adarsh Gokhale spoke on "Smart Ideation and Innovation". Finally, the much-awaited Prize Distribution function was held in which all the winners were awarded certificates and Cash Prizes. The Transtech Theme Poster winners were Cdt. Darshan Patidar and Cdt. Akshay Havaler. The wonders of their graphics and photography skills were being aired on all the three days as Cdt. Harsh Sharma and Cdt. Samarth Jogi won the Transtech Video Making Competition. The winners of the intelligence-testing Marine Quiz were Cdts. Gautam Saxena and Akshay Havaler from Tolani Maritime Institute, followed by Cdts. Abdul Gaffar and Don Baby from Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy in the second place and Cdts. Kumar Srivathsan and Dhanraj Deshpande from Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training in the third. A total of 21 entries were registered for the model making competition. The winner of Model Making Competition was Cdt. Bhavesh Kumar Sendh from Tolani Maritime Institute with his model on Cargo Hold Cleaning Robot. This was followed by models by other teams of TMI and Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy. Out of the 22 potential entries, the winner of the Poster Making Competition was Cdt. Devendraraj Chavan from IMU Vishakhapatnam for his poster on, "A Socio-Economic Solution for Inland Water Transportation". The technical paper presentation, being the highlight of the event, had its top three technical papers in the following order; the third place was secured by Cdts. Divyam Tiwari, Devesh Nimje, Deepayan Mukherjee from IMU, Kolkata for their paper titled, "Potential of Ammonia as a Marine Fuel", followed by the second place bearer, Cdt. Nirjhar Sarkar from U V Patel, College of Engineering for the paper titled, "Reduction of Carbon Footprints in Shipping Industry". The winner of the paper presentation competition we're Cdts. Mohit Shangari, Badrid Dona and Satwik Dixit from IMU, Vishakhapatnam for their paper titled, "Socio-Economic Analysis of Blue Fuel". The technical paper presentation also had 7 subthemes. The winners of each have been listed below; 1. From the first Sub-theme - Intelligent Management of Pollution at Sea – the winning paper is ‘Green Energy Power Generation using VAWT's on Ships’ by cadets Aryadeep Bharadwaj, Arpit Raj & Harshvardhan Bhati from TMI 2. For the sub-theme ‘Reduction of Carbon Footprints in Transportation’ – the winners are cadets Mohit Shangari, Badrid Doja, Satwik Dixit from IMU, Visakhapatnam for their paper titled ‘Socio-Econonic Analysis of Blue Fuel’ 3. For the sub-theme ‘Sensor Technologies for Intelligent Transport System’ – the winners are cadets Devish Bakshi, Hunar Deep & Daksh Bharadwaj from TMI for their paper ‘AUTO DOCK USING SENSOR SYSTEM’ 4. For the sub-theme Digital Transformation in Transportation and Logistics – the winners with a paper of the same title are Kush Rana, Harjot Singh Lamba & Krish Kaushal from IMU, Kolkata 5. For the sub-theme Behavior Based Safety for Improved Maritime Operation – the winners are cadets Bhavesh Sendh & Ekta Mehta from TMI for their paper titled Whale Safety Systems. 6. For the sub-theme Innovative Transport System Design for Energy Efficiency – the winners from IMU, Kolkata are cadets Divyam Tiwari, Devesh Nimje, Deepayan Mukherjee with their paper titled Potential of Ammonia as Marine Fuel. 7. For the sub-theme Role of Information and Communication Technology in Future Shipping - the winners for their paper titled ‘Sustainable Transportation: Key to Atmanirbhar Bharat’ are cadets Anant Kumar, Abhinandan Rai & Vaishnav Sharma from IMU Chennai. The three days long event came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Capt. Manoj Hirkane, Senior Vice Principal, TMI.
